Letters for Mr. Warren

Parents, if you are interested, please consider writing a “thank you and goodbye” letter for Mr. Warren.  Letters can be dropped off in the Volunteer Office or sent to the VO via red folders.  We would like to have all letters by Friday, June 18th to present to him at the school assembly on June 22nd.

City Budget Cuts May Affect McClure Middle School

City Budget Cuts That May Impact McClureMayor McGinn and Seattle City Council are reviewing mid-year budget reductions — no program or facility is off the table.  Local community centers (including Queen Anne and Magnolia) are anxiously waiting to hear which community centers or pools will not be funded for the rest of the year and/or through 2012.

These potential closures affect our schools!  Our students utilize the Queen Anne Pool for swimming classes and the Queen Anne Community Center supports after school activities and our athletic/sports programs!

There is still time to provide your input to the Mayor and City Council. Let them know your thoughts (hopefully prior to June 1!) and how this can impact our students.  Click here  http://www.seattle.gov/mayor/citizen_response.htm for a link to the Mayor’s contact page, and

Math Placement Letters for Middle School – see below

From the district –

We just received information that the 5th grade math placement letters scheduled to be mailed this week did not go out.   The problem is one at the external printing and mailing house.   We are, of course, very unhappy about that, and very apologetic to families.  Unfortunately, School Beat and the Superintendent’s E-News were issued with the information that letters were to be mailed on May 26th.   I am posting a short story on our web site.
