News from the Lunchroom March 2011

Seattle School Nutrition Services prides itself on providing a fresh salad bar everyday.  Each Wednesday a special in-season fruit is offered on the salad bar, for example, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple, fresh jicama and kiwi.  Fresh vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes, peppers and carrots are featured every week.  However, with the recent bad weather in the south, we may be seeing a decrease in the amount of fresh salad lettuce that is available.  Please be assured, however, that your child will be provided and offered a well-rounded balanced and nutritional meal, for just $2.75 a day!

Please remember to keep your child’s lunch account filled so that he/she is confident in knowing they can buy lunch or milk anytime.

Money can be deposited via a check (payable to CNS), cash or credit card via the web on PayPams.com.

DID YOU KNOW?  Soy Milk is available for $.75 and yogurt & muffin are available every day.

The Hot Lunch program is here at John Hay for you.

You can access the detailed monthly calendar/menu, nutritional information and much more on SeattleSchools.org.

Parents are always welcome to join children for lunch. Adult lunches are $4.00, includes milk.  Volunteers are often needed in the lunchroom to help serve.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come in and see me, or give me a call at 206-252-2111.  I look forward to serving your children this year.
