Penny Harvest Finishes Strong!

John Hay students collected over 650 pounds of coins (more pennies this year than ever), filling 22 sacks with coins and collecting more than $500 in paper and checks.  Fourth and fifth grade volunteers will decide, with the help of the whole school, where the money will be donated this Spring.

In the grade-level competition, 1st grade was the big winner, filling 5 sacks of coins.  Kindergarten had a burst of energy at the end overtaking 2nd grade with over 4 bags.  They were followed closely by 2nd grade with 4 bags and 3rd grade with 3 ¾ bags.  Our busy 4th and 5th graders brought in 3 bags and almost 2 bags respectively.  Great job by all!

If your child forgot to bring in any last donations, they can bring them to the office until Dec 1st.   Thanks for supporting the Harvest!
