Hello Hay Families:
Just a reminder that the more helpers I have for May Clay month, the more clay projects your student(s) can make! C’mon up to art room 200–no advanced coordinating necessary!
After June 3 Celebrate the Arts event, you will be able to take home ALL student artwork from the year–woo hoo!! (The portfolio folders will stay at school for next year, however.) Here’s another way for you to showcase your student’s artistic achievements:
Magnolia Art Show: www.magnoliaartshow.org
Also, you are invited to the Seattle Art Museum (SAM) Family Day “Kids Rock” at SAM Downtown on May 15, 2010 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. View the SPS student work on display in the annual Naramore Middle and High School Art Show. Celebrate the high school award winners at the 2 p.m. awards ceremony. Many fun Family Day activities and performances throughout the day are free to all.
Additionally, for the May 15 Family Day, SAM is offering the first 500 SPS students and their families (up to one adult and four children) who arrive between 10am and 3pm, free gallery admission. All SPS employees and families of students exhibiting work in the Naramore Art show will receive free admission to SAM galleries.
